About Us

Welcome to the Mind Expanders Club!

Step into a world where science meets imagination, and every envelope holds a new adventure…

We’re a curious bunch of explorers, led by two wildly wonderful scientists—Professor Ignatius Whitley, a slightly scatterbrained genius with a fondness for jungle maps and mathematical puzzles, and Professor Poppy Marlowe, an animal-loving biologist with mud on her boots and a lemur in her backpack. Together, they travel the globe uncovering nature’s secrets, ancient mysteries, and scientific wonders.

Each month, your mailbox transforms into a launchpad for discovery. Inside, you’ll find beautifully illustrated letters from the Professors, packed with tales from remote corners of the Earth, real scientific facts, astonishing creatures, and playful experiments. There’s always something to decode, investigate, or create.

Our mission?
To spark curiosity, expand young minds, and prove that learning is the greatest adventure of all.

Whether you’re deciphering an ancient water system in Sri Lanka with Professor Whitley, or trekking through Arctic ice floes in search of narwhals with Professor Marlowe—each letter invites children aged 6–12 (and their grown-up companions!) into a world of wonder.

A Note from the Founder

Hi, I’m Chantelle—homeschooling mama to three endlessly curious kids, and the creator of the Mind Expanders Club.

This little idea was born around my kitchen table, with globe-trotting maps spread out beside cups of cocoa, and questions like “What’s the coldest desert?” or “How do fireflies glow?” buzzing around the room.

As a firm believer in Charlotte Mason’s philosophy of offering children a living feast—rich, real, and deeply engaging—I wanted to create something that felt like a living book in letter form. These aren’t just educational notes; they’re invitations into far-off lands, friendships with quirky scientists, and sparks for wild, wonderful thinking.

It’s learning through story, through wonder, through connection.

If your child loves mysteries, maps, animals, or simply asking “why?”—they’re going to feel right at home here.

Thank you for joining us on this extraordinary expedition. I can’t wait to see where your child’s curiosity will take them.

Warmly,
Chantelle

About Mind Expanders Club

What is Mind Expanders Club?

Mind Expanders Club is a monthly snail-mail subscription for curious children aged 6–12.

Each month your child receives immersive letters from two explorer-scientists, Professor Poppy Marlowe and Professor Ignatius Whitley, taking them on adventures around the world while learning about science, geography, animals, ecosystems, ancient technologies and the natural world.

There is also an additional option to include activities, puzzles and a glossary with your letters for extra opportunities to dive into the material.

The goal is simple: spark curiosity and help children fall in love with learning.

What age is it best for?

Mind Expanders Club is designed for curious children aged 6–12 years old.

The letters are written so that many children in this age range can read them independently, while younger explorers often enjoy them as a read-aloud adventure with a parent.

The stories, science and geography are fascinating for learners of all ages, but the puzzles, experiments and activity sheets are specifically designed for ages 6–12.

Many homeschooling families also use the letters as a shared family learning experience across multiple ages.

Is it educational?

Yes.

Each dispatch blends storytelling with real learning topics such as:
